500GB to 64GB

What a weird upgrade. It’s like going back in time, to have a <100GB hard drive in a laptop. Even some MP3 players have 64GB of storage D:.

Changed from a 500GB 5400rpm(slower variant) hard disk, to a 64GB Solid State Drive. (Teaching some of you stuff here! =))

If you feel that this is familiar, about a year ago I upgraded my old laptop's 100GB HDD to a 500GD HDD. Now I'm upgrading my new laptop from 500 to 64!

Takes less than 25 seconds to get to windows desktop from when you press the power button. Love it!

Finally after 8 weeks of waiting.
8 Drivers each side. Crazy. Most advanced earphone right now. But who cares about that? More important is, how it sounds.

Compared to the 6 driver JH13, the 16s have more lowend bass. 4 of the drivers are bass drivers. Cost me $2067. Over 21times the cost of the Sansa Clip+ I plug it into..

Fixed the squeak from my mouse

In the sprit of DIYism!

Mousewheel started squeaking, and it was really irritating. (razer copperhead)

Opened it up, put lots of oil, but still squeaks.

After 10 mins of thinking, realized that the middle click button rubbing against the wheel axle caused the problem. Oiled that axel, but still sqeaks.. the switch got loose after 1 year of scrolling I guess.

Enter telflon tape. Problem solved.

Archos 5 Android

It’s actually called “Archos 5 Internet Tablet”, but imo it’s a super video player with a 800×480 screen compared to itouch’s 480×320.

Android is still new, and no way it is better than apple with the amount of apps it has.. but this is only a bonus, because I bought it purely for video.

Upgraded my motherboard/cpu/ram, and added a 1.5TB drive.
The old trusty core 2 dual will be for my sister, pictures later.

Chose LGA 1156 over 1366, because of identical performance but almost half the price. Haven’t got to overclocking yet. Crazy fast with 4+4 cores because of hyper threading.

Teaching someone how to fix computers is not easy… and I’m a crappy teacher. I hate to repeat things more than once. Sure reminds me of myself when I didn’t know anything. Sometimes learning things the hard way teaches you more.

21st birthday is coming. I don’t seem myself enjoying a big birthday bash at all. Maybe for 30mins, but after that it gets real tiring and energy draining.

This would make a great birthday present though.

G25 with WheelStandPro

It’s a stand with the Logitech G25. I want to get something like that but with the G27. It costs a bomb, but sure is hell a lot cheaper than zhnging your car!

Maybe you could buy me the stand.. XD

Did I? I didn’t? No wai!

I’ve been using Windows 7 for the last month. It’s good. Real good.

Most of the EYE CANDY OMG SWEET.. Ahem. Most of the eye candy, can be done by tweaking windows and shit. You need to have the free time of a billionaire retiree and a PhD in Computer science for that though. And you still won’t get what Win7 gives you.

Windows feel really smooth now. I feel as though my pc is new again.

First off, wallpapers. I always thought, “hey wouldn’t it be awesome if there was a random wallpaper everytime I switched on my pc?” There are programs for that, but win7 does it off the bat. Here’s my wallpaper. (One of them)

I love having only 1 icon. Also, I’ve opened (and minmized) a few programs, but they don’t make the taskbar look cluttered and full! Quicklaunch icons becomes the program’s window button when opened. No need for quicklaunch toolbar anymore.

These are all my wallpapers. Set them to change every 10mins.

One of the handy features, you can maximize windows by dragging them to the top, or make them occupy the left half by going to the left, and same for the right. Makes it really easy to quickly compare to windows side by side!

All those of you who are using old laptops, I’ve installed it on my 3 year old “Designed for winxp” laptop, and it’s flawless. If you’re using a pc/laptop that is 64bit, I can tell you that 64bit is problem free too.

Organ transplant

More of a swap actually. Bought a 500GB 2.5″ portable hard disk. Was not sure if I knew how to swap it, but who cares? I’ll try, it’s probably like Lego.

Disassembled. The portable case didn’t have any screws at all, really painless. The orange chip is what converts SATA to USB, it’s so small =O
